SEBASIS AND THEIR SEBA
The Lord becomes active by His SEBASIS. .Sebasi is His closest one. By him He eats, drinks, and does everything in the ceremonial days. So one should know the sevasis to know the Lord. In Ladubaba temple, sebasis of all categories are seen.1. PARICHHA: - Ritualistic Brahmin by caste. Appointed by the king. Now hereditary. He is to see all the NITIS, BHOGA and works of the SEBASIS. If any dispute arises among the sebasis he is to solve.
2. RAJA PURODHA: - Ritualistic Brahmin by caste. Appointed by the king. Some of the main NITI of the temple done by him.
3. CHAMARA SEBAKA: - Ritualistic Brahmin by caste. Does the CHAMARA SEBA. He fans the LORD with CHAMAR on the Mondays of the month of MAGHA, BAISHAKHA and KARTIKA.
4. JATRANGI SEBAKA: - He does the special JATRANGI SEBA on 14 days of JATRANGI.
5. PUJAKA: - Ritualistic Brahmin by caste. Does the puja in various
DHUPAS.
6. SUARA: - Brahmin by caste. Cooks the ANNA BHOGA & other BHOGAS.
7. PATRI SUARA: - Cooks the KHAJA (sweets) in the SARA GHARA.
8. PRATIHARI: - Brahmin by caste. He guards the gate. Comes guarding the BHOGA.
9. CHARCHAITA: - Brahmin Sebeka. He will see whether BHOGA is Prepared correctly or not.
10. PALIA MALI: - MALI by caste. He will supply sandal paste and the BHOGA in time. The utensils and keys of the temple will be in his charge.
11. AKHANDALIA: - MALI SEBAKA. AKHANDALA DWIPA will be in his charge.
12. BEDANJYA BRAHMANA: - Brahmin by caste. He will recite the VEDA in the morning.
13. BANA BANDHA SEBAKA: - MALI SEBAKA. He will host the flag on the top of the temple.
14. PANARA: - PANARA by caste. He will supply betel for the Deity.
15. KAHALIA: - Weaver by caste. He will blow the KAHALI at the time of NITI.
16. GHANTUA: - MALI SEBAKA. He will ring the GHANTA during NITI.
17. CHAUDHALIA: - MALI SEBAKA. At the time of BEDHA they will carry the CHAUDHALA in the temple premises.
18. MASALIA: - Barber by caste. He will carry the MASALA (light).
19. JYOTISHA: - GRAHA BIPRA BRAHMIN by caste. Before BALLABHA every day he will read aloud the PANJI near the BRUSHABHA.
20. GITAGOBINDA PATHAKA: - Brahmin by caste. He will recite the Gitagobinda before the God.
21. KANSARI: - Brazier by caste. He will burn the bronze utensil that was used during Durga puja.
22. TELA JOGANIA: - Oilman by caste. He will supply oil.
23. KUMBHAR: - Potter by caste. He supplies HANDI (POT), SARA, KUDUA & MATHIA.
24. TANTI: - Weaver by caste. Supplies cotton threads KANDA.
25. GAUDA: - Milkman by caste. Supplies milk, curd, cheese etc.
26. CHASA: - CHASA by caste. Supplies new rice, sugar cane juice and GUDA.
27. GUDIA: - GUDIA by caste. Prepares the BALLABHA BHOGA.
28. TULA BHINA: - BHINA by caste. Supplies cotton.
29. DARAJI: - Brahmin by caste. He does tailoring works of the God.
30. MAHADWIPA SEBASI: - MALI by caste. Lights the MAHADWIPA on the temple.
31. MAHADWIPA JOGANIA: - Brahmin by caste. Supplies the fireworks for the MAHADWIPA.
32. HADI: - Bets the drum. Cleans the SINGHADWARA (front gate) & bank of the pond. After SIVARATRA he comes through the western gate and cleans the BEDHA. Supplies KULA, BHOGEI & CHANGUDI etc.
33. MAHARANA: - BADHEI (woodcutter) by caste. He cuts the trees from the temple. Makes the car and repairs the CHAUDHALA.
34. PANA: - He supplies wood brushes (MUTURI DANTAKATHI).
35. DHOBA: - Washer man. Washes the clothes of the God.
36. KANCHIA: - MALI by caste. Guards the temple keeping keys with him.
37. NAURIA: - Drives the boat at the time of CHANDAN. MALI by caste.
38. MANDIRA SAFAKARI: - Weaver by caste. Cleans the BEDHA.
39. BADA MALI:-MALI by caste. On the day of SIVARATRI he supplies water. Brings BHOGA. Supplies JATRANGI KHATANI. Fans the CHAMARA.
